Congratulations Riley!

We are delighted that Riley has been chosen to represent Tasmania at the National Schools’ Constitutional Convention 2022 which will be held online in May due to COVID 19. He is one of only five students to represent the state at this Convention which has been held annually since 1995. The college is proud that several of our students have been chosen to participate over the years because increased understanding of the Constitution strengthens our democracy and can lead to beneficial change.

Riley has already demonstrated a keen interest in Constitutional change in his presentation on the Uluru Statement from the Heart at last year’s Reconciliation Ceremony where he outlined the need for the Constitution to provide a First Nations’ Voice to Parliament. We know Riley will enjoy hearing from experts and debating with peers about whether Australia needs a Bill of Rights and will continue to forge friendships with people keen to make a contribution in this important area.
