Please join us on Tuesday 19 September from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Presented by Dr Robert Ollington, Lecturer in algorithms and programming, and researcher in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), School of Engineering and ICT, University of Tasmania.
We are approaching an era where robots and software agents will have comparable intelligence and capabilities to those of humans. Advances in this field are already leading to loss of jobs, and leaders in the field have issued warnings about “killer robots”. What are the specific technologies that are bringing about these rapid advances? How soon before we are all made redundant? Is it all doom and gloom?
Community members are warmly invited to attend. Afternoon tea will be available from 3:15 pm.
